Sunday Afternoon Minnow Group Swim

Class Description

This is a 4-week group swim for dogs that love the water, but need assistance getting into or out of the pool. This session is perfect for the older dog, a dog that needs to swim for fitness, or those looking for routine assisted swim sessions with a bulk discount. You and your dog will share this session with 3 other dogs, each dog taking a turn in the pool for a private swim with the instructor/assistant. This is a 90 minute swim that runs for 4-weeks. Swimming is an excellent low impact exercise for dogs with a wide range of health benefits. It is known to improve their muscle tone, strength, body awareness, and overall happiness. We have seen these differences first hand with our own dogs in just a short time. Please consult with a veterinarian prior to your dog engaging in swim activities. IMPORTANT NOTE: THIS IS NOT A HATCHLING EVALUATION - Completion of a Hatchling Evaluation is NOT required for this special swim session. However, dogs should be familiar with the pool or swimming. For dogs who need to learn how to use the pool, please start with Assisted Hatchling Swim Sessions or a Try-It Swim Class. A hatchling evaluation is required prior to renting pool time. During this swim session, one of our staff will be in the pool to assist your dog getting in and out of the pool and swimming around. Dogs should be comfortable being fed or handled by another person. Brings lots of treats and their favorite toy that can float! IMPORTANT NOTE: Completion of a dog training class or proof of prior titling on dogs (CGC, STAR Puppy, Obedience, Herding, Nosework, Agility, Tricks, Confirmation etc.) is required prior to any swim session type at Chickadee Cove. You will need to submit proof of course completion or titling for this dog or another dog via a certificate or instructor written notice. All current and prior VelociCanine Agility Students can forgo submitting proof of prior training completion.
